Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-08
This site is run by Filip Develter, a freelance software consultant trading as dsoft.services (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what personal data I collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it. If you have any questions about it, get in touch via the Contact page.
Data I collect
Contact form. If you use the form on the Contact page, I collect the name, email address, and message you enter. This is sent directly to my inbox through Resend, an email-delivery service, so I can read and reply to it. I do not store form submissions in a separate database — once it reaches my inbox, it is handled like any other email I receive.
Spam protection. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-preserving alternative to CAPTCHA. Turnstile runs a short check in your browser to confirm you are a real visitor rather than a bot, using signals it processes itself; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details on how it handles that.
Hosting and security. This site is served via Cloudflare, which necessarily processes standard connection data (such as your IP address and request metadata) to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse.
Analytics. This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool, to see aggregate numbers like page views and which pages are popular. It does not use cookies or any persistent identifier, cannot track you across other sites, and does not build an advertising profile. Cloudflare retains the underlying raw data for 7 days, after which it’s aggregated down to a small sample. I don’t have a separate visitor-tracking or advertising system beyond this.
Embedded video. Where a blog post embeds a YouTube video, it uses
YouTube’s privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) mode, which does not set
tracking cookies unless you actively play the video.
Cookies
This site does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may use short-lived, strictly necessary technical cookies to complete its check, and Cloudflare Web Analytics (see above) uses none at all — these aren’t used to track you across sites. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
Legal basis and retention
I process contact-form data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to enquiries you’ve sent me) and, where a project follows, to take steps ahead of a contract. I keep messages only as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry or relationship they relate to, consistent with normal email retention.
Who else sees it
Personal data submitted through this site may pass through, or be processed by, these providers acting on my behalf:
- Resend — delivers the contact-form notification email.
- Cloudflare — hosting, security, spam protection (Turnstile), and privacy-first analytics (Web Analytics) for this site.
I don’t sell or share your data with anyone for advertising or marketing purposes.
International transfers
Resend and Cloudflare are global providers and may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States), including through sub-processors such as Resend’s underlying email-sending infrastructure. Where that happens, it relies on the safeguards those providers put in place for exactly this purpose (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) — see their respective privacy policies linked above for specifics.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal data I hold about you, object to or restrict how I use it, or request a copy of it. To exercise any of these, get in touch via the Contact page. If you’re not satisfied with my response, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Belgium, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit).
Changes
I may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the last revision.
